We have an area of the park designated and marked as a 5-a-side football pitch. The Clayton Cup is played every year at our annual Charity Fun Day, where a dazzling array of skills are on show.
With 600 metres of frontage to the River Eden some excellent trout and sea trout fishing can be enjoyed although you will have to bring your own gear. There is no cost or permit required for this.
Salmon fishing can be enjoyed on the river however a permit is required from the Eden Angling Association.
Walking and Wildlife
Clayton is situated in 100 acres of the Eden Valley and large areas have been left undeveloped to provide recreation areas. We have a large dog walking area extending to about 4 acres which lies adjacent to the River Eden. There are river walks through an area which is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. There is also plenty to keep the wildlife enthusiast amused with otters, ospreys, swans, ducks, salmon and an array of different birds regularly spotted on the park.
